This article will give you a rundown of my typical wedding photography timeline. It’s purpose is to provide you with a rough guide as to how I would structure your timeline in terms of the wedding photography. For educational purposes, we will be doing it for a full day wedding which is often co-aligned with my Deluxe Package.
I photographed a wedding this previous weekend, and as always I said goodbye to the bride. She was very appreciative not because I took great wedding photos (she hadn’t seen them at this point) but because I helped her to remain calm and helped organise the day along side her.
We are going to discuss something a tad controversial. Unplugged weddings. An unplugged wedding is when you ask your friends and family to turn off their phones, cameras, iPads or other digital devices used to capture wedding photos. While some couples encourage their guests to snap away and take as many photographs as possible, it can actually implement the professional photographer.
When planning your wedding, you may find many trusted wedding resources recommend giving your photographer a detailed shot list, doing so can be counterproductive. Sending a multi-page list of “must-have” photos may inadvertently offend your photographer. Professional wedding photographers know to capture essential moments like you with your maid of honor, the invitation suite, and your first kiss.
It’s no secret that light is the most important factor to getting great wedding photos. But what constitutes good lighting and bad lighting and why is it so important? If the lighting is harsh or sunny, it can create dark shadows on the subjects face, creates a big contrast between the shadows and the highlights and causes subjects to blink when they have their photo taken.
When you are searching for an experienced wedding photographer in Brisbane, you will probably notice that some (in fact most) photographers are very expensive. Some wedding photographers can charge up to $5000 for a single day of wedding photography, and this may not even include an album!
So your big day is done and dusted and now your officially hitched. Congratulations! Within 4 to 6 weeks after your wedding, I should have your edited photos ready and sent to your address. Once you have had a look through your photographs, it is time to start thinking about the 80 images you would like for your wedding albums.

After your ceremony and your declared husband and wife, family portraits are then taken and then usually your wedding photographer will do your “Location shoot”.
